Ballet Hispanico - Sr. Director of Community Engagement

Responsible for the School of Dance and the arts engagement programs in the community, AnaMaria has worked in arts in education in the disciplines of theater, dance, music, visual art, creative writing and architecture with organizations like the Dancing Classrooms, Henry Street Settlement’s Abrons Arts Center, The Jewish Museum of Florida, Brooklyn Historical Society and Washington State University’s “Performance as Education” program. She is doing her life’s work -- a mission to ensure that young people, community and educators have access to, and a meaningful (and authentic) connection with, transformative arts experiences. She’s earned degrees in Secondary Education and Literature from Hunter College, an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College and is currently a doctoral candidate in Urban Education at the CUNY Graduate Center.
